Advanced Technology

K-YSK is pursuing leading-edge technology.

Research & Development

In 1998, K-YSK greatly reduced the volume of gas trapped inside the die cast products.  This was the epoch-making start of the mass production of weldable die cast parts that had never been realized before.  This engineering has been adapted to racing motorcycles.
In 2002, we also realized mass production of hollow-body parts that had previously been thought impossible in die casting. This engineering has also been adapted to motorcycles which has led to unification of conflicting properties, to pursue lighter vehicles while securing greater frame-rigidity.  This has greatly expanded die casting engineering flexibility.
As an existing theory is not available for the analysis of hollow-body parts, CAE is used to simulate the invisible flow of molten aluminum for die designing.
In order to promote a new application of hollow-body parts, we are working toward the development of both upsized and complicated parts to lead to lower costs.  At the same time, we are focusing on new possibilities for die-casting.
We received 2008 International Pressure Die Casting Competition Special Honourable Mention which is the first achievement among Japanese companies. Thus we are highly appreciated not only by our customers but also by international aluminum industries.

Die design

Only quality dies can make quality die cast products.  In consideration of the needs of today when both upsized and more complicated parts are required, stable parts quality will never be realized without employing a higher technical level than ever before.  Many years of accumulated expertise, using of the state-of-the-art computers, allow us to realize high quality products.  They are supported by the detailed die design under the leadership of our engineers.
After a thorough repeated study, the CAM system has transformed the completed die configuration into processing data.  The computer transforms both the fastest and safest die-making pattern into CNC data.

Machine tools
Our high-quality die is completed using CNC machines to retrieve data through a fiber-optic network, making the die without operators in attendance.
If a machining tool does not reach a complicated area, an electric discharge machine will complete the work. This machine also features a CNC control and an unmanned operation.
